Job Opportunity: Research Project Coordinator at WIFT Canada

Women in Film and Television Canada (WIFT Canada) was formed as a coalition in the fall of 2019. It is made up of WIFT Atlantic, FCTMN Montreal, WIFT Toronto, WIFT Alberta, and WIFT Vancouver, as well as Women in View. Collectively, we are member-based organizations working in the screen industry that have come together to support the development and advancement of individuals through nationally driven, online programming, during these unprecedented times.
WIFT Canada is seeking a Research Project Coordinator. This position will be part of a small international team of scholars who will deliver a research report to the Canada Media Fund on diversity and risk management under COVID-19 in the Canadian film and television industry.
The Coordinator will oversee the administrative, industry outreach, logistical and progress-tracking aspect of the research to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget. The position works collaboratively with a wide range of film and television production industry stakeholders as well as the Research Project leads in Australia.
Key Responsibilities under the guidance of the WIFT Canada Research Steering Committee and Australian Research Leads:
Project scheduling, tracking and progress reporting
Convening, scheduling and providing minutes for the project Research Steering Committee meetings and any project management action items arising
Advising the research team and Steering Committee on matters requiring attention
Establishing project-related stakeholder and community outreach and relations
Providing organization and oversight of data transfer processes and protocols, participant recruitment
scheduling of focus groups and interviews
maintaining Funder relations and reporting
Knowledge of and passion for the Canadian screen-based industry
Excellent time-management skills, project management skills, multi-tasking skills, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Stakeholder liaison skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and Zoom
Ability to work a flexible schedule within several time zones (including Australia).
Any of the following skills are considered useful for the position:
Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French (written and/or verbally)
Experience working in a non-profit organization
Ability and experience working with a team across several time zones (including Australia)
Location: Virtual (Individual can work remotely from home anywhere in Canada)
Ideal Start Time: between September 25 and October 1, 2020
Length of Contract: through to March 31, 2021
Rate: Flat fee of $10,000
This is a part time contract position for the duration of the project. The hours per week will vary in response to the project stage, with an average of 60 hours per month. The majority of the work will occur prior to December 31, 2020.
