(Halifax, Jan. 13, 2015) Women in Film and Television - Atlantic rolls out its 5th anniversary edition of Women Making Waves, February 27- March 1 in Halifax.

Launching at this year’s conference is the BravoFACT WIFT-AT Pitch Contest, which welcomes female WIFT-AT members to pitch their short doc or fiction film for a chance to win a $35,000 award.

“One of the goals for WIFT-AT is to generate industry opportunities for our members to create content for the screen,” said Jan Miller, Founding Chair of WIFT-Atlantic. “This is a remarkable opportunity that BravoFACT is offering WIFT-AT members from all four Atlantic Provinces.”

Qualified applicants are invited to submit their applications, no later than Friday, February 6 at 5 p.m. E.T., to rachel.feldbloomwood@bellmedia.ca. Five lucky finalists will make their public pitches to a jury comprising industry members as part of WMW’s programming on Saturday, February 28. The winner of the $35K grant will be announced at the Sunday WAVE Awards Brunch on March 1. For more information and contest rules, applicants can visit here.
