ABOUT WIFT- AT
WIFT-AT has been in operation since 2009 and has grown steadily, already attracting more than 220 members in the Atlantic region through word-of-mouth and the distribution of our e-publication, Tidings, to over 700 industry contacts.
Reflecting the collaborative nature of the screen-based industry in the region, WIFT-AT has been able to function with only a short-term part-time staff member, and the extraordinary efforts of several senior industry volunteers. WIFT-AT is the Atlantic chapter and voice of an international organization (WIFT-International). There are currently 40 chapters and over 14,000 members world-wide, almost all of which are volunteer-run, and a few of which have similar contexts, industry constraints and infrastructure, and membership potential as WIFT-AT.

WIFT-AT is a non-profit professional association that networks our members and advances the careers of women working in film, television and screen-based media based in Atlantic Canada. Our mission is to grow, enable and leverage the skills, talents and potential of our members to ensure access to high-quality production and distribution resources; to exert influence at all levels of the industry; and to celebrate and extend the impact of the collaborative nature of screen-based production in the Atlantic region.
WIFT-AT supports women through the development and execution of programming, communications, networking opportunities and member benefits that encourage strategic leadership growth at the most senior and experienced levels, offers inspirational outreach to new members and audiences; and enables innovative knowledge sharing practices throughout the Atlantic Canada screen-based industry.
